Credit Structure
The Master’s Degree Course on Clinical Research of Infectious Diseases - INI/Fiocruz, which takes 2 years, has a minimum of 1440 credit hours. The minimum credit hours to be fulfilled by the student must be 48 academic credits attributed to preparation of master’s thesis and the remaining credits distributed between mandatory and elective disciplines and other academic activities*.
The INI Doctorate Course, which takes 4 years, has a minimum of 2880 credit hours. The minimum credit hours to be fulfilled by the student must be 96 academic, 36 credits attributed to preparation of Doctorate thesis, 30 related to Master’s degree course and 30 credits distributed between mandatory and elective disciplines from the Program and other academic activities*.

Out of the total credits required for course conclusion, one third (1/3) of such credits can be external to the course. To request credit validation, the student is required to submit to the office the completed credit validation form (form site); discipline proof of attendance including course description, credit hours, term, concept. The Program of Clinical Research of Infectious Diseases coordination and committee will evaluate the request. The number of revalidated credits cannot be equivalent to the one given at the Institution where the student has taken the discipline.
